I have written about the food you should take to improve hair growth. Now, I’ve found some of the stuff you should avoid eating to prevent hair loss.

Processed Food
Processed food contains additives and preservatives. They also lose most of the important nutrients and vitamins when they are being processed. The additives and preservatives, such as sodium etc., may trigger hair loss and without the nutrients and vitamins, processed food hardly benefits your hair.

Salty Food
Eating excessive amounts of table salt is not only bad for your health but can also increase hair loss. If possible, take salt water fish rather than iodized salt.

Fatty Food
Foods that contain saturated fats, when eaten, result in high body DHT levels and we all know what DHT does to our hair. Eating too much fatty food can also reduce the effectiveness of prescription hair loss treatments. Also, avoid hydrogenated oil or partially hydrogenated oil in cooking as they are trans fats. Besides making you, well, fat, it can also cause heart disease, and other medical problems like hair loss.

Sweet & Sugary Food
When consumed in large quantities, sugar raises the adrenalin levels in our bodies. With a higher amount of adrenalin, the body makes more androgen, which can precipitate androgenic hair loss. This includes cutting down on soft drinks as even the diet ones contain 10 sugar cubes. Cutting back on excessive sugar will not only prevent hair loss but also be beneficial to your health.
