Besides wearing a cap, what are some other options you have to cover that receding hairline or bald spot right on the crown of your head? Here are 5 tips on how you can cover bald spots based on my personal opinions from some research.

1. Get a short and neat haircut

Having long hair with patches of bald spots really is quite an eyesore. If your hair is long, it highlights your bald spots and make them more obvious to others.

2. Get a wig or toupee

Get a decent wig or toupee to cover your crown. Make sure to get a decent one and not one that looks like roadkill. Or that might just draw more attention to the fact that you are balding.

3. Spray on Hair

I’ve previously blogged about this product before in Spray-On Hair: The Quick Fix For Those Special Occasions. Spray on hair is fast and good for covering small to medium bald spots. Remember to buy the right hair colour or you’ll really get people staring!

4. Use fluffy hair mousse, volumnisers or conditioners

If your bald spot isn’t so obvious yet you might want to consider getting some mousse or volumnisers to puff up your hair. Grow your remaining hair by a few inches, layer it and brush it forward.

If your hairline isn’t receding too badly, but the top of your head is thinning, keep the front long and comb your hair straight back to cover the bald spot.

5. Shave your head!

You’ll be surprised how many people prefer this option to treatment. You won’t have to worry about whether your receding hairline is showing too obviously or whether that annoying bald spot at the side of your head that refuses to go away is attracting the wrong kind of attention.
