Now that we have some tips to cover up those pesky bald spots, here are some tips on what you should avoid if you are balding.
1. Avoid the Combover
The combover is the style where one grows the hair long on one side of the head and sweeps the hair to the other. Many articles I’ve read have all discouraged this style because generally, it doesn’t look very good and has been deemed a bad attempt to cover up balding areas.
Also, once the wind comes, the hair is usually sent flying all over the place. This, I’ve heard, can be pretty embarassing.
2. Gel
Avoid using gel to try to style your hair. Gel actually clumps your hair together and will expose more bald spots on the head.
3. Combing Backwards
Avoid combing backwards to cover up the bald spots in the middle or back. This usually exposes the receding hairline and draws more attention to it.
4. Growing Hair Long
Another thing you should avoid is growing your hair long. I’ve mentioned many times that growing your hair long actually causes hair to separate and show more scalp. It also makes one look a little unbalanced and might draw more attention to the scalp and baldness.
